Most Ducks in WPL: In the Women’s Premier League (WPL), on the one hand, big shots, fast runs and record innings make headlines. There are also some figures which show difficult times for the batsmen. In the season of WPL so far, many famous players have repeatedly had to return to the pavilion without opening their accounts. In this series, the list of players who have made the most ‘ducks’ (out on zero) in the history of WPL has come out.
Kiran Navgire
If we look at the three seasons of WPL so far (2023 to 2026), UP Warriors’ explosive batsman Kiran Navgire is at the top in the list. Kiran batted in 30 innings of 31 matches and returned to the pavilion 6 times without opening the account. However, she also has 435 runs in her name and her strike rate has been more than 134, which shows that she is a risk-taking batsman.
Ashley Gardner
The second name in this list is that of Gujarat Giants all-rounder Ashley Gardner. Gardner faced ducks 5 times in 34 innings. The interesting thing is that this same player has also scored more than 800 runs in WPL and his average has been above 25. That means, despite the duck, his contribution has been very important for the team.
Sophie Ecclestone
UP Warriors’ star spinner Sophie Ecclestone is in third place. He has made this record in his name by getting out for zero 4 times in 26 innings. There are not many expectations from Ecclestone, who is famous for bowling, in batting, but still his name appearing in this list attracts attention.
Disha Cassatt
RCB batsman Disha Cassatt has made the shameful record of duck 3 times in her name despite playing limited matches. Although, she did not get many chances, but whenever she came on the field, she had to bat under pressure.
Arundhati Reddy
Fast bowling all-rounder Arundhati Reddy is at fifth position in this list. He has faced getting out on zero thrice. His role was more important in bowling, whereas in batting, there is little expectation of big innings from him.
