During the discussion in the Lok Sabha during the budget session of the Parliament, Leader of Opposition and Indian National Congress leader Rahul Gandhi raised the issue of Doklam. When the ruling party created ruckus and expressed objection on this issue, then they got the support of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav. In the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi was referring to the book of former Army Chief General Naravane, which has not been published.
As soon as Rae Bareli MP Rahul mentioned the unpublished book of former Army Chief Naravane on the Doklam issue, an uproar started from the ruling party and objection was lodged. Amidst all this, Kannauj MP Akhilesh said that the issue of China is sensitive. Akhilesh has demanded that Rahul Gandhi be allowed to read the statement of former Army Chief MM Narveen.

On Monday, February 2, Rahul Gandhi raised the issue of Doklam and China during the discussion on the President’s address, to which Defense Minister Rajnath Singh expressed strong objection. As soon as Rahul Gandhi started mentioning Doklam, Rajnath Singh said that this topic was not mentioned in the President’s address and raising such issues is not in accordance with the rules.
He also raised the question whether the book which Rahul Gandhi was citing was published. Singh said that the book being referred to, related to former Army Chief General Naravane, has not been published yet. Whether the book being mentioned is published or not. During this time the Speaker also ruled that this statement cannot be read.
During the debate in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi said that what is there in the book to which reference is being made that is being hidden and why is the government afraid of the report. He alleged that the tanks of the Chinese army had come into the Indian border. Rahul Gandhi also said that he was not originally going to raise this issue, but he had to speak after a young member raised questions on the patriotism of the Congress party and its understanding of Indian culture.
