This time the election of Delhi University Students Union is going to be special in many ways. At the same time, after 17 years, women leadership can be seen in Dusu because this time in two student unions, there are women candidates in the race for the post of president.

In fact, two out of three student unions have nominated the female candidate for the post of president. Due to which DUSU election seems to be on the way to become historic. This is the first time since 2008 when women candidates have firmly descended in the race for the post of president. This time the possibility of getting the female president to the DUSU panel has also increased.

NSUI bets on Josleen

NSUI has announced the name of Josleen Nandita Chaudhary for the post of president in its panel. The organization believes that this step is an attempt to empower women leadership and give a new direction to student politics. At the same time, Rahul Jhansala for the post of Vice President, Kabir for Secretary and Lavkush Bhadana for Joint Secretary Pad have been nominated.

Women candidates also in ABVP panel

At the same time, ABVP has also declared its candidates. Aryan Mann has been fielded for the post of president. Govind Tanwar for the post of Vice President, Kunal Chaudhary for Secretary and Deepika Jha for the post of Joint Secretary have been nominated. In this panel, women representation is seen as Joint Secretary.

SFI-AISA entry with female leadership

The SFI-AISA alliance has also launched a strong panel this time. The most important thing is that the presidential candidate is also a woman here – Anjali, who has been leading the student movements in DU for the last several years. Anjali has played an active role on every front till the movement of re -opening of DU (2022), demand for women’s hostels, sexual harassment in IPCW, and flood relief work. He is accompanied by Vice President Sohan Kumar Yadav, Secretary Abhinandana candidate and Joint Secretary Abhishek Kumar.

Women president’s strong possibility after 17 years

Significantly, after 2008, no female president has been made in DUSU till now. But this time the picture seems to be changing. Both Josleen of NSUI and Anjali of SFI-Aisa are in a direct competition for the post of president. At the same time, ABVP has registered a female representation by giving Deepika Jha a chance to the post of Joint Secretary. This time DUSU election can start a new chapter in women’s leadership and student politics.

At the same time, after all kinds of restrictions by the DU administration to spread dirt on the university campus, this election is emerging as eco -friendly elections. On the other hand, the imperative of bond of one lakh rupees for the candidates also highlighted the DUSU election.
