E-Passport: The government has started e-passport service in the country. Due to which the process has become safer and more convenient than before for those traveling abroad. This passport looks just like a normal passport. But it has a special electronic chip installed in it. In this chip, personal information of the passport holder like name, date of birth, address, and fingerprints are recorded.

Its biggest feature is that no tampering or duplication is possible in it. With this new technology, passengers will get relief from long lines at immigration and security check will also be completed faster. The aim of the government is not only to make travel smart through this facility. Rather, data security also has to be strengthened.

What is the process of making e-passport?

The process of making an e-passport is the same as the old passport. For this, you will have to go to the official website of Passport Seva Kendra and do a new registration. After filling your correct information in the registration form, pay the fees and book the appointment. After payment, download the receipt containing the application reference number and appointment details.

On the day of appointment, reach the Passport Seva Kendra with original and photocopies of all the necessary documents. There the biometric process will be completed and the documents will be verified. After this the process of police verification will start. When everything is found right. The biggest feature of e-passport is its security. The information present in the chip remains digitally encrypted. Which no one can change. This will prevent crimes like fake passports or identity theft. During the immigration process, the officials will get the necessary data from the chip without even opening the passport.
