Mohammed Shami Hasin Jahan Case: Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami’s wife Hasin Jahan has demanded transfer of the domestic violence and maintenance case from Kolkata to Delhi, citing closeness of her family and daughter’s education. Hasin Jahan had filed a petition in the High Court that the cases filed under the Domestic Violence Act and Code of Criminal Procedure 125 should be shifted from Kolkata to Delhi.

Earlier, Calcutta High Court had ordered Mohammed Shami to pay alimony of Rs 4 lakh per month to his daughter and wife. Challenging this decision, Hasin Jahan had reached the Supreme Court, where she had demanded to increase the maintenance allowance from Rs 4 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.

While hearing the petition of Hasin Jahan, the Supreme Court has issued a notice to the West Bengal government and cricketer Mohammed Shami. In the new petition, Hasin Jahan’s side said that Mohammed Shami’s family lives in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh and she has also shifted to Delhi for her daughter’s education. The petitioner said that therefore shifting the case from Kolkata to Delhi would be convenient for both the parties.

Mohammed Shami and Hasin Jahan were married in the month of April 2014. The next year, a daughter was born to them, whose name is Ayra Shami. This is the year 2018 when Hasin Jahan had made serious allegations of domestic violence against Shami and his family. Hasin Jahan did not stop here, as she also made serious allegations against the Indian cricketer of match fixing and having relations with other women. BCCI’s anti-corruption unit had given clean chit to Shami in the match fixing case.
