East Champaran district of Bihar is once again going to be honored at the national level. District Election Officer and District Magistrate Saurabh Jorwal will be honored with the National Award for the second consecutive time by the President. This honor is being given for excellent work, innovation and peaceful voting in election management.
Expressing happiness over this achievement, District Magistrate Saurabh Jorwal said that this award is not the result of any one person, but the collective effort of the entire district administration, all the personnel associated with the elections and the citizens of the district. He said that this success has been possible only because of the hard work, honesty and cooperation of the public and officers in the election work.

District Magistrate Saurabh Jorwal said that during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and 2025 Assembly elections, better management, effective use of Information Technology (IT), strong security arrangements and many new experiments were done in the district. Due to these efforts, the elections were conducted in a peaceful, transparent and well-organized manner. Receiving the National Award twice consecutively proves that East Champaran district is continuously doing better work in the field of election management and is moving forward with full commitment to strengthen the democratic system.
Award should be given on National Voter’s Day
This national award is given every year on the occasion of National Voters’ Day. On this day, programs are organized across the country at national, state, district, assembly constituency and polling station levels. Officials and institutions are honored for their outstanding work in election conduct, technological innovation, security management and promoting voter participation. This honor is a matter of pride and happiness for East Champaran district.
