With the onset of winter, people often feel like eating outside food, which includes fried and salty dishes like mathri, chips, samosas, hot pakodas etc. If you mostly eat food from shops and hotels, then it can prove to be very harmful for your health, due to which you are at risk of many diseases.

Nowadays, people are becoming very fond of eating different types of street food, which often contains salty and fried food which can have a serious impact on your heart health and kidneys. Because during winter we reduce our physical work, due to which our metabolism slows down. Both Ayurveda and science believe that eating too much salty food has harmful effects on our health.

Disadvantages of eating too much salt

Salt is the most important part of the Indian kitchen which we eat every day, but do you know that eating too much salt weakens our bones because excessive amount of salt causes calcium deficiency in the body, which is not good for the strength of bones.

Due to excessive amount of salt in food, there is a serious effect on our kidneys, due to which the functioning of the kidneys slows down. Because human kidneys have to work harder to filter sodium. Therefore, if you add too much salt in your food every day, it is harmful for your kidney health.

Consuming too much salt affects your heart, which can lead to the problem of high blood pressure. This happens because sodium increases the amount of water in the blood, which increases pressure on the cells.

In winters, outside fried food like pakodas, samosas, chaat are eaten more. They also contain more salt and due to less physical exertion in winter, weight may increase.

water stagnation problem

Thirst is less in winter season. In such a situation, eating too much salt causes water retention in the body, due to which swelling appears on the face, hands and feet.
