Voting for the first phase of Bihar assembly elections is going on from 7.00 am on Thursday (6 November). Obviously, amid the voting, claims of irregularities by political parties and allegations and counter-allegations are continuing. Meanwhile, the opposition Grand Alliance has made serious allegations against the Bihar Election Commission. Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has posted on Twitter and claimed that electricity is being cut repeatedly at many booths deliberately to ensure slow voting. The Election Commission’s reply has also come on this.

RJD has claimed that in the middle of the first phase of voting, electricity is being cut intermittently in order to slow down voting at the strong booths of the Grand Alliance. Slow voting is being conducted deliberately. Regarding this, RJD had demanded from the Election Commission to take immediate cognizance of such ‘rigging’, ‘bad intentions’ and ‘malicious intentions’ and take immediate action.

Bihar Election Commission calls RJD’s claims ‘false’

Bihar Election Commission has termed this claim of RJD as completely baseless. While sharing RJD’s post, the Election Commission has written, “This allegation is completely baseless and misleading. Voting is going on smoothly at all the polling stations in Bihar. The Election Commission of India is following all the standard protocols to make the voting process fair, transparent and seamless. There is no basis for such misleading propaganda.”
