Elon Musk Starlink India launch 2025: Elon Musk is preparing to enter the Indian market. Musk’s satellite internet company Starlink may be launched in India soon. According to media reports, Starlink is working on a plan to build 9 gateway earth stations across India.
Under which, the company will build its gateway earth station in big cities like Mumbai, Noida, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Lucknow. Starlink is known for its high speed internet. Even without mobile network, with the help of Starlink internet, remote villages will get internet facility.
What is the company’s plan?
According to the report of The Economic Times, Starlink has applied to the Government of India for its first satellite network (Gen 1 satellite constellation). Through which the company wants to provide internet with a capacity of 600 gigabit per second. However, the Department of Telecommunications has allowed Starlink to use temporary spectrum for demo. So that security checks can be done. The government has given permission to Starlink to bring 100 user terminals into India and provide only fixed satellite service.
Strict monitoring and strict measures by the government
The Government of India wants that the countrymen should not be subjected to any kind of misuse. Due to which the government has decided to keep strict vigil on Starlink. There was a demand from the company to bring foreign technical experts to its earth station. Which was rejected by the Government of India and said that till the security clearance is obtained from the Home Ministry, the earth stations can be operated only by Indian citizens.
Also, the government has made it clear that whatever data the company will collect during the trial. It will have to be kept in India. The company will have to share its report with the Department of Telecommunications and Indian security agencies within 15 days. However, during the trial the company will not be able to provide service to the common people.
