The West Indies (CWI) has called veteran players Brian Lara, Clive Lloyd and Viv Richards to attend an emergency meeting after a 3–0 defeat in the domestic series against Australia.
The three legends will consist of the West Indies’ very embarrassing and disappointing performance in the Test series against Australia and will include veterans like Shivnarayan Chandrapaul, Desmond Hens and Ian Bradshaws in the Cricket Strategy Committee.
In every Test of the three -Test series, the West Indies lost within three days. In the fourth innings of the last Test played in Kingston, the West Indies were reduced to just 27 runs in 14.3 overs, which is its minimum in Test cricket and the second minimum in history.
The record of minimum score is New Zealand. In 1955, the New Zealand team was reduced to 26 against England.
After the shameful defeat, Cricket West Indies President Dr. Kishore Shalo admitted that the recent defeat will make ‘sleepless nights’ in the West Indies cricket community. He urged that he should start focusing on new players further.
He said, “Like every West Indies cricket fan, I also felt the pain of recent Test defeat against Australia. For many of us, including players, the next few nights will not be filled with sleep. Disappointment is natural, but we should not allow this moment to be the basis of our journey. We are in the era of reconstruction, we have to prepare the players of the next generation. Used to be.
Shalo said, “Progress is never straight. It requires time, perseverance and faith, especially in our most difficult moments. The way ahead will take our test, but I have full faith in the talent and commitment of my players.”

The West Indies have to play a five -match T20 series with Australia from July 21, after which there will be a white ball series at the domestic ground against Pakistan in August.
