Keeping yourself hydrated throughout the day is the easiest and most effective way to protect your teeth. In their desire to have a perfect smile, people start adopting home whitening remedies suggested on social media, like lemon, baking soda or activated charcoal. These methods may brighten teeth for a short period of time, but their rough or acidic nature causes rapid damage to the enamel. The result is that the teeth become more yellow and sensitive than before. Safe options are those recommended by your dentist or mild, fluoride-based toothpastes.
Special toothpaste with enamel protection
People often assume that any toothpaste that claims to protect against cavities is sufficient. But most normal toothpastes focus more on cleaning or whitening, not on protecting the enamel. Over time, acidic substances soften the enamel, causing teeth to wear out quickly. In such a situation, special toothpastes with enamel protection help in restoring the strength of teeth and protecting them from everyday acid attacks.
