The security forces were seen suspicious activity during the search operation near the Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir. When the soldiers proceeded, the terrorists present there started firing, in response, the security forces also fired. There are reports of 2-3 terrorists hiding in the area and the search operation is going on.
The army has increased vigilance after receiving information about suspicious activities along the Line of Control (LOC) in Degwar sector of Poonch district. According to sources, the area was immediately surrounded as soon as the news of some terrorists’ attempt to infiltrate and the search operation was started. Due to this area being dense and inaccessible, it is often used for infiltration on behalf of terrorists. The security forces have increased the surveillance in the area by taking accurate action.
Indian Army Operation Mahadev
The Indian Army conducted a major operation on Monday (28 July 2025) in the Lidwas area of Srinagar district of Jammu and Kashmir, named Operation Mahadev. This operation was started in the dense Dachigaon forests of Srinagar when intelligence agencies came to know that the terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack were hiding there. During this campaign, the army had killed three terrorists, from whom a large quantity of weapons, ammunition and several days of ration were recovered. This shows that the terrorists were planning a major attack by staying hiding in the forests for a long time.
Surrected terrorists join TRF and Lashkar
According to the confirmation of the army, the slain terrorists were related to TRF (The Resistance Front). TRF is considered to be a pseudo-organization of Lashkar-e-Taiba, which is used by Pakistan to carry out terrorist activities in India. The bodies of the three terrorists were confirmed with the help of drone photography. This shows the use of modern technology how the Indian Army is executing its campaigns with accuracy and strategic efficiency.
