The Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy is running on a 1–1 par. The third Test of the series starts from July 10 at Lord’s. England captain Ben Stokes has warned India before the third Test. Stokes said that the England team will go to Lord’s to give India a tough competition.
Ben Stokes said, “Looking at the level of both teams, it is expected that this series will be balanced. Both teams will have to face ups and downs. It has always been a series in which there have been ups and downs and the results have been shocking.”
Stokes said, “We were victorious in the headingley, while they won in the second Test. When two good teams play against each other, you get to see it. I don’t think we can take an edge over anyone. We respect our rivals, no matter what it is.
England won the first Test played in Headingley by 5 wickets, achieving the target of 371 runs. This was England’s second largest chase on the home ground. India conquered the second Test played in Edgbaston by 336 runs on the basis of Shubman Gill’s brilliant batting.
England announced their playing XI on Wednesday for the Lord’s Test. Fast bowler Jofra Archer has returned to the Test team after 4 years. Josh Tong has been excluded. Archer has taken 42 wickets in 13 Tests for England.
On the return of Jofra Archer, Captain Stokes said, “I think it is fantastic for English fans, not only is it great for Archer. He took a long time to return. The way he has dealt with injuries, he is very praiseworthy. He is very good to see him back to see his back.
