Hijab controversy is not over yet in Bihar. Female doctor Nusrat Parveen has not joined the job yet. The last date to join the job is 31st December. Patna’s Civil Surgeon Dr. Avinash Singh bluntly said that if Nusrat Parveen does not join till tomorrow, then she will not be able to join again after that. Time will end. She has not yet given any information about whether she will do the job or not.
On the other hand, a protest by AYUSH doctors is going on in Gardnibagh, Patna. They are demanding their appointment. The protesting doctors said that Nusrat Parveen should join the job as soon as possible. The female doctor from the Muslim community who participated in the protest also talked about the hijab controversy.
What did the doctors protesting say?
A large number of AYUSH doctors are protesting with banners and posters in Gardanibagh. Slogans are being raised against Bihar government. He is demanding his appointment. Regarding Nusrat Parveen, he says that she should join the job.
More than 1336 posts are still vacant – Doctors
The protesting AYUSH doctors say that this reinstatement of AYUSH doctors has come after a long gap of about 13 years, after September 2013. A total of 2619 posts were advertised in this recruitment but after the current selection process only 1283 candidates have been taken, while more than 1336 posts are still vacant. The cutoff fixed for reinstatement is as per government rules and court instructions and we fully respect it. We are only requesting that such a large number of posts remaining vacant even after the cutoff is implemented is an extraordinary situation, which requires reconsideration.
Warned of agitation in entire Bihar
AYUSH doctors are appointed in rural PHC, CHC and health centres. Due to vacant posts, rural and poor people are not getting primary treatment. The protesters said that we should be reinstated as soon as possible. Bihar is already facing shortage of doctors. The Supreme Court has also established the principle that advertised posts should not be left vacant, especially when the matter is related to public interest and health services. If our demands are not met, there will be agitation throughout Bihar.
The doctors participating in the protest said that female doctor Nusrat Parveen is also among the 1283 candidates who have been selected. He should join the job. One should not panic. The opposition presented that entire incident in a wrong manner. Nitish Kumar and he have a father-daughter like relationship.
At the same time, the women doctors who were protesting, especially the women doctors coming from the minority community, also insisted that Nusrat Parveen should join the job. She has reached here through hard work and education. What can we say about what has happened now?
