The incidents of brutality against Hindus in Bangladesh are becoming more horrifying every day. After the brutal murder of Hindus, now an incident of brutality with a woman has come to light. A 40-year-old Hindu woman was gang-raped by two men and then tied to a tree and her hair was chopped off in Kaliganj area of Jhenaidah district of Bangladesh. The husband of the victim woman has already died. She lives with her child in Jhenaidah district of Bangladesh.
The victim was raped by the person from whom she bought the house.
The victim has lodged a complaint at Kaliganj Police Station. According to the complaint, the person from whom the victim had purchased 3 decimal land and a two-storey house in Nadipara for Rs 20 lakh two and a half years ago, along with one of his friends, raped her. The victim is a resident of Kaliganj upazila and had purchased the house from Shahin and his brother, residents of Nadipara. After this deal, Shahil started having bad intentions towards the victim woman and also started behaving obscenely.
The brutality of breaking into Padita’s house
According to the police complaint, on Saturday (January 3, 2026) evening, when two relatives from the widow’s village had come to meet her, Shahin and his companion Hasan forcefully entered the house and raped her. After this the accused demanded 50,000 Taka (about Rs 37,000) from the victim. When the woman refused to give the money, the accused attacked her relatives and chased them away.

When the woman started screaming, the accused tied her to a tree and cut her hair. The accused also made a video of this incident and made it viral. The woman was also beaten, due to which she became unconscious, after which the local people admitted her to the hospital. Dr. Mohammad Mustafizur Rahman of the hospital said that initially the woman did not tell anything about this incident. Later during the medical examination it was found that she was raped. After this the woman lodged a complaint against Shahin and Hasan at Kaliganj Police Station.
Bilal Hussain, Additional Superintendent of Police, Jhenaidah, said, ‘We called the victim to the police station and registered her complaint. After investigation, the police will take strictest legal action against the accused.
Violence against Hindus increased in Bangladesh
Khokan Chandra Das, a Hindu man, was attacked by a mob and set on fire in Shariatpur district of Bangladesh. Khokan Das managed to escape by jumping into the pond, but died of his injuries on Saturday. On the same day a woman was raped.
On 24 December 2025, another Hindu youth, Amrit Mandal, was beaten to death by a mob in Kalimohar Union of Bangladesh. The interim government in Bangladesh led by Mohammad Yunus condemned the murder, but claimed that Mandal was an extortionist and that there was no communal aspect to his murder. 25-year-old Dipu Chandra Das was also thrashed to death by the mob on December 18 after being falsely accused of blasphemy. His body was also hanged from a tree and set on fire.
