‘Fake elections were conducted by killer Yunus’, Sheikh Hasina’s reaction on Bangladesh elections, made this demand

After voting to elect the new government in Bangladesh, counting of votes has now started. Meanwhile, former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has demanded cancellation of the elections. Calling Mohammad Yunus a fascist, the Awami League chief has also demanded his resignation.

Sheikh Hasina has issued a statement and put forth her six demands. These demand cancellation of the elections as unconstitutional and illegal, resignation of Mohammad Yunus, withdrawal of false cases, release of all political prisoners as well as teachers, intellectuals and professionals, lifting of the ban on the activities of Awami League and holding of fair elections.

Hasina said in her statement that the general public at various levels in Bangladesh, especially women and minority communities, have boycotted this election. He alleged that Mohammad Yunus captured power in an illegal and unconstitutional manner and that the election organized by him was a planned sham.

He said that this election was conducted ignoring the voting rights of the people, democratic values ​​and the spirit of the Constitution and the process was completed without the participation of Awami League and without actual voters.

Allegations of widespread irregularities in the electoral process

At the same time, the former Prime Minister of Bangladesh also alleged widespread irregularities in the election process. He claimed that incidents like capture of polling centers, firing, use of money to buy votes, pre-stamping of ballot paper and forcibly getting signatures of agents on result sheets had started from the evening of Wednesday (February 11, 2026).

He also said that since the morning of Thursday (February 12, 2026), voter attendance remained very low at most of the polling centers across the country, while many polling centers in the capital Dhaka and other places were seen completely empty. Sheikh Hasina alleged that elections conducted under such circumstances raise serious questions on the credibility of the democratic process.
