What is a fake university?
Under the UGC Act 1956, any university can grant degrees only if it is recognized by the government. But these 22 institutions were calling themselves universities without any permission. UGC has clearly said that the degrees of students studying through them will not be valid.

A base of fake university was found in the capital Delhi. A total of 10 fake institutions were caught here. Recently, the Institute of Management and Engineering running in Kotla Mubarakpur also turned out to be fake. Neither the Central Government nor the Delhi Government, no one recognized it. - Before enrolling: Always check whether the university is in the UGC list or not.
- Already reading?: If you are reading in any of these, get out immediately. The degree will be useless.
UGC gave this advice
UGC Secretary says that we are constantly keeping an eye on fake institutions. Students are advised to take admission only in recognized universities. Every year thousands of children fall into their trap. This not only wastes their money and time, but also ruins their career.
