Completed primary education from Jaipur
Govardhan Asrani was born in Jaipur, Rajasthan. He completed his primary education from St. Xavier’s School, Jaipur. From there his understanding of art and performance developed. During his school days, Asrani used to participate enthusiastically in plays and cultural programs. This seed of acting later became the foundation of his career.
Completed graduation from Rajasthan College
After school, Asrani completed his graduation from Rajasthan College, Jaipur. However, his mind was always engrossed in theater and films. He had decided that the purpose of life was not just to get a degree, but to breathe life into characters. He also worked as a voice artist at All India Radio, Jaipur to finance his education. His ultimate goal was to become an actor.

Acting journey started from Gujarati cinema
In 1964, Asrani enrolled at the Film Institute of Pune (now known as the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune). He completed his studies from here in 1966. During his studies, Asrani impressed many people with his acting. In 1967, he started his acting career in a Gujarati film with a new actress Waheeda (not the great Waheeda Rehman, but a Gujarati actress). After this, between 1967 and 1969, he worked in four more films, in most of which he appeared as a lead or supporting actor. This news is based on media reports.
