When Lionel Messi reached Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata, everything did not go as expected. Since the fans had breached the security arrangements and entered the field, Messi quickly came out of the field. Meanwhile, the DGP of West Bengal has confirmed that the organizers of the GOAT Tour have given a written assurance that people’s money will be refunded for what happened in Kolkata.
It is being told that the fans got angry because it was difficult to see Messi due to heavy security. After that the fans started throwing bottles and whatever came to hand on the field.
Speaking to the media, West Bengal DGP Rajeev Kumar said, “The main organizer has been arrested. Investigation has started and strict action will be taken against whoever is responsible for this incident.”
DGP Rajiv Kumar also said that the organizers have given a written assurance that the money will be returned to the fans. He said, “Many fans had come thinking that Messi would play. The situation has now been brought under control. The organizers have said that the money will be refunded and they have given assurance in writing.”
When Messi reached the stadium, about 70-80 security personnel surrounded Messi. West Bengal Sports Minister Anoop Biswas was also one of them. Messi left the field within a short time, due to which the fans got angry and started throwing bottles on the field. After some time, people entered the grounds without caring about the security arrangements and created a lot of chaos.
