Filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj has increased the excitement of fans by releasing the teaser of his upcoming film ‘O Romeo’. Bollywood’s veteran actress Farida Jalal was also seen in this teaser, but she was most discussed about her only dialogue, in which she is seen speaking abusive words.
As soon as the teaser came out, this dialogue went viral on social media. Responding to this, Farida Jalal said that in her first conversation with Vishal Bhardwaj regarding the film, she had clearly said that she would not use ‘dirty abuses’. Despite this, his scene in the teaser became shocking and memorable for the audience.
Working with Vishal was like a dream
While talking to Zoom, Farida Jalal told that Vishal Bhardwaj has always been one of her favorite directors. Through ‘O Romeo’ she fulfilled another wish, because before this she had worked with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in ‘Hiramandi’. Farida recalled that when Vishal came to her house, he told her that working with him was like another dream for him. After this Vishal jokingly asked her, ‘You will abuse, right?’
I will not use abuses like ‘mother-sister’ – Farida
Farida Jalal, while sharing her response to Vishal’s question, said, ‘Can you even think? I didn’t understand what to say. I was so shocked that he was there and I was going to work with him. I said, ‘No, leave it, leave it, I was not going to speak like that.’ Then I clearly said that I will not use ‘nasty abuses’. If there are small, minor abuses then I can give them. According to me it was not very dirty or objectionable. I will not say abuses like mother and sister. He laughed at this and understood the point.
Farida further said, ‘I have said it only once in the film and then see how much ruckus it created. Look at the comments on the internet, people are saying, ‘Farida Jalal said this, our dear grandmother said this.’ He has seen me since childhood and I stayed away from such dialogues, but no problem.
When will the film be released?
O Romeo directed by Vishal Bhardwaj is one of the most awaited films of this year. Apart from Shahid Kapoor and Farida Jalal, Trupti Dimri, Disha Patani, Tamannaah Bhatia, Vikrant Massey and Avinash Tiwari will also be seen in important roles in the film. The film is going to be released in theaters on 13 February 2026.
