Here, Haji Akhtar alias Khan Saheb, a scrap dealer, returned about 100 grams (about 10 tola) of gold ornaments to the family which had mistakenly sold them considering them as scrap. The value of the jewelery is said to be around Rs 15 lakh.
Unique method adopted before Kumbh Mela
This entire incident happened in January last year. Ashok Sharma, resident of Faridabad, was going to Kumbh Mela with his family. The house was going to be vacant, so there was a fear of theft.
Due to this fear, he kept all the precious gold in the house in an old box and hid it in a sack of junk. He thought that thieves would not notice him.
Big mistake made during Diwali cleaning
Time passed and the family forgot that box in the sack. When the house was cleaned on the occasion of Diwali, the same sack was considered as junk and sold. He reached Bora Khan Saheb’s scrap warehouse.
When the jewelery was needed at the time of Diwali puja, the family realized their mistake. As soon as they realized that the gold had gone into scrap, the entire family was shocked.
Hope returned after 6 months
The family had no hope for about 6 months. But meanwhile, scrap dealer Khan Saheb showed honesty. He found that old box among the pile of junk lying in his warehouse. On opening the box, gold jewelery was found safe in it.
Jewelry returned in the presence of police
Khan Saheb immediately informed the family about this. In the presence of ACP Jitendra Malhotra, jewelery worth about Rs 15 lakh was handed over to Ashok Sharma and his family. As soon as the jewelery was returned, the family’s happiness knew no bounds.
This incident proves that even today there are people in the society who rise above greed and give importance to humanity and honesty. This scrap dealer from Faridabad not only brought happiness to a family but also set an example for the entire society.
