Mohammad Nabi-Hassan Isakhil: There is an old saying that like father, like son. But when a son surpasses his father, then it is a moment of pride for a father. Perhaps Mohammad Nabi must have felt a similar sense of pride while batting with his son Hasan Isaakhil. This father-son duo from Afghanistan made a half-century partnership while batting together in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) match played between Noakhali Express and Dhaka Capitals on Sunday, January 11, 2026. The incident of father and son batting together in a major tournament was seen for the first time in the history of cricket. But, what was even more interesting was that the son broke the record made by his father.
Father-son duo took charge of their team’s innings
Afghanistan’s legendary all-rounder Mohammad Nabi and his son Hasan Isaakhil are part of the Noakhil Express team in BPL. Noakhali Express batted first in the match played against Dhaka Capitals.
