FBI offers a reward of 50 thousand dollars on an Indian citizen wanted in the case of murder of mother and son.

The US Federal Investigation Agency (FBI) has announced a reward of up to $50,000 for information about an Indian national wanted in the murder of an Indian woman and her six-year-old son in 2017. Officials have appealed to the Indian government to extradite the suspect to America.

Nazir Hamid (38) is accused of murdering Shashikala Nara (38) and her son Anish Nara in Maple Shade, New Jersey in March 2017. In February this year, two charges of murder, possession of illegal weapon and using it for unlawful purpose were framed against Hamid.

According to US officials, Hamid returned to India six months after the murder and is living there. The Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement that he was considered the prime suspect during the investigation because he was found stalking Hanumanth Nara, the husband of the deceased woman.

His name is listed in the FBI’s list of wanted criminals and the Federal Investigation Agency has announced a reward of $ 50,000 for information leading to his arrest. New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy has sent a call and letter to Indian Ambassador Vinay Kwatra seeking the Indian government’s assistance in extraditing Hamid. He said that this brutal crime had shocked the entire state.

Police found the bodies of mother and son in an apartment on the evening of 23 March 2017. The post-mortem revealed that both of them had many deep wounds on their necks and Anish’s neck was almost severed from the torso. A police officer said that this scene was horrifying. Hamid lived in the same apartment and worked in the same IT company where Hanumanth Nara worked. According to officials, there is solid evidence that Hamid had murdered Sasikala and Anish.
