Nausea during pregnancy: When a woman comes to know that she is going to become a mother, then that moment is the most special of her life. But with this happiness, some uncomfortable challenges, of which the most common is nausea. Many times these symptoms remain throughout the day. So the question arises that what is this nausea ‘chemical locus’ and what is the solution?

On this, Gynecologist Dr. Deepti Jain says that this is absolutely normal, but it should not be ignored. About 70 percent of women have a problem of nausea or vomiting in the early months of pregnancy. This is caused by hormonal changes, especially when hormones such as estrogen grow rapidly. Then this happens. These hormones prepare the body for pregnancy, but their sudden increase affects the digestive system, which makes the nausea.

Do not eat heavy food together

Filling full stomach, food can increase the nausea further. Eat a little bit 5 times a day. As soon as you wake up in the morning, take some light and dry food like biscuits.

Avoid eating chili-spices and fried

Eating oil and spices can increase stomach acidity and gas. Eat boiled or light things, such as moong dal, khichdi or soup.

Eat ginger and lemon

Both these home remedies are very effective in nausea. Drink a few drops of lemon in ginger tea or lukewarm water.

Get enough rest and sleep

Tiredness can also increase nausea. Therefore, 7 hours of sleep and a little rest in the day is necessary.

When to contact a doctor?

If the nausea becomes so much that it becomes difficult to eat and drink, or if there is a lack of water in the body, then contact the doctor immediately. This can be a condition called hypermiceis graviderum which demands treatment.

Nausea in pregnancy is a common but uncomfortable experience. It is part of the ongoing hormonal changes in the body, which can be controlled to a large extent by proper diet, rest and home remedies. Instead of having a courage, adopt caution and enjoy safe pregnancy from the doctor’s opinion.
