How did the controversy start?
During the toss of India and Pakistan, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav did not join hands with Pakistani captain Salman Ali Aga. After this, even after the match was over, the Indian team did not get on the field to join hands with Pakistani players and went to the dressing room and closed the door. After this, Suryakumar Yadav said that the feelings of the country for us are ahead of the game of spirit.
In the match played with India, the Pakistani team filed a complaint against ICC against the match referee Andy Picroft. This referee was also to participate in the match of Pakistan and UAE on 17 September today. Regarding this, the Pakistan Cricket Board said that if Andy Picroft was not removed from the post of referee, then Pakistan’s team will not play matches against UAE.
There was a ruckus one hour before the match between Pakistan and UAE. The PCB first forbade the Pakistani players to reach the stadium and the news came out that Pakistan could boycott from the Asia Cup. Then there was a meeting between the ICC and the PCB, in which the referee Andy Picroft was described as innocent and kept them referee.
ICC pronounced the decision
The ICC has clearly stated in its decision that Andy Picroft has not violated any match protocol. After this, PCB overturned the whole story. The ICC’s decision neither came in favor of the Pakistan Cricket Board nor agreed to play the Pakistani team. Pakistan refused for the first match and then agreed to play. But in all this ruckus, the time of the match progressed one hour.
