The weather has once again changed in Uttarakhand, on Tuesday there was fresh snowfall of the season on the high peaks of Badrinath Dham, while the lower areas remained cloudy throughout the day. Due to this change in the weather, the severe cold in the Dham has increased. Along with the local people, devotees are also taking the help of bonfire to get relief from the cold.

In the evening, light snowfall started on the peaks around Badrinath Dham, due to sudden drop in temperature the chill increased in the Dham. Devotees and travelers are keeping themselves warm by lighting bonfires in Dharamshalas and hotels, the icy winds have increased the feeling of cold in the entire region.

There will be snowfall at higher altitudes – alert issued

At the same time, Meteorological Center Dehradun has issued forecast for the hilly districts of the state. According to the Centre, there is a possibility of light rain in parts of Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Tehri, Bageshwar, Rudraprayag and Pithoragarh districts and snowfall in higher reaches. The Meteorological Department said that there may be snowfall in areas at a height of more than 4000 meters.

cold wave will increase

Meteorologists say that due to rain and snowfall, the effect of cold wave may increase further in the hilly areas of the state. Severe cold in the morning and evening can trouble people. However, according to the department, the weather is likely to remain dry across the state from November 6 to 8. On the other hand, visibility may be affected due to fog in the plains, especially in Dehradun and Haridwar and a drop in temperature will be recorded.

Due to this sudden change in weather, passengers have been advised to be cautious during the journey and carry adequate warm clothes. Along with this, disaster management teams in all the districts have been instructed to remain alert.
