After the Central Government issued guidelines on Wednesday (February 11) regarding following the new guidelines for singing the national song ‘Vande Mataram’, politics on this issue has intensified. Uddhav Thackeray faction’s MP Priyanka Chaturvedi, while talking to ABP News, took a dig at the ruling party and said that first these people should learn to differentiate between ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Vande Bharat’, everything else that has been done is correct. Let’s see what they do after Bengal elections are over.
‘He did not know the difference between Vande Mataram and Vande Bharat’
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi said, “Be it six stanzas or four or two stanzas, whatever is sung, it is necessary to sing Vande Mataram because when our church was running, earlier an order came from BJP that no one can raise slogans of ‘Vande Mataram’ during the session. When we objected to it, it was withdrawn. Secondly, when BJP was discussing, they did not know the difference between Vande Mataram and Vande Bharat. Whether it is sung first or later, we will see after the West Bengal elections.
What are the Centre’s guidelines regarding Vande Mataram?
According to the guidelines of the Central Government, 6 verses of Vande Mataram will be sung. Whose duration is about 3 minutes and 10 seconds. This song will be played during major state functions. These include the unfurling of the national flag, the formal arrival and departure ceremonies of the President and Governors at official functions and the events before and after their scheduled speeches at such functions.
‘Vande Mataram’ will be sung first
According to the new guidelines, if both ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘National Anthem’ are to be sung in a program, then the national anthem ‘Vande Mataram’ will be sung first and after that the ‘National Anthem’ Jana Gana Mana will be sung. It is also clearly stated in the guidelines that people should stand at attention during singing. The Home Ministry has appealed to educational institutions to promote singing of Vande Mataram during daily school assemblies and important institutional programs.
