Bangladesh Captain Faruque Ahmed Heart-Attack: Former Bangladesh cricket team captain Farooq Ahmed has suffered a heart attack. On Sunday, November 10, Farooq Ahmed was admitted to the hospital in Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka due to complaint of chest pain. According to the report of Cricbuzz, Farooq Ahmed had chest pain, after which he was immediately taken to the hospital, where doctors told that there was a blockage in one of his arteries, due to which he had chest pain.

While giving information to Daily Sun, Bangladesh Cricket Board officials said that Farooq Ahmed has undergone heart surgery. The Bangladeshi captain is currently under the observation of doctors. Blockage in the heart was detected through angiogram. Doctors have inserted a stent in Farooq Ahmed’s chest in the evening. He is currently admitted in the hospital.

7 matches in 11 years international career

Farooq Ahmed made his debut in international cricket on October 29, 1988 in an ODI match against Pakistan. This player played his last match for Bangladesh against Australia on May 21, 1999. In this year’s international career, Farooq Ahmed played only 7 matches and during these seven matches only, this player got the opportunity to captain the team.

Farooq Ahmed also played domestic cricket, in which he emerged as a successful captain. For this, he was made the captain of Bangladesh’s ODI team during 1993-94, but this decision of Bangladesh Cricket Board did not prove to be right and he was soon removed from the captaincy. Farooq Ahmed also played 5 matches in first class cricket, in which he scored 258 runs in 8 innings. The best score in first class cricket was 68 runs. Farooq Ahmed’s highest score in his international career was 57 runs. Farooq Ahmed had scored these 57 runs in the ODI match played against India in Chandigarh in 1990.
