During the interview, James Lawler also gave information about his counter-proliferation career, which started in a beautiful alpine country. After returning to CIA headquarters in 1994, he was appointed head of the European Division’s Counter-Proliferation Office and later tasked with infiltrating and disrupting Iran’s nuclear weapons program.
