Karnataka ex dgp death: Former Karnataka Director General of Police Om Prakash was found dead on Sunday (April 20, 2025) under mysterious circumstances at his residence in HSR Layout in Bengaluru. A blood -soaked body was found on the ground floor of his three -storey house. Pallavi, wife of former DGP, informed the police about the incident.
Police said the bruises were found on his body, which suspects that he has been murdered and suspected of murder is on any of his family. On receiving the information, senior police officers reached the spot. The police suspect the involvement of a member of a close family in this case. At present, the body has been sent for post -mortem and further investigation is being done.
Police interrogated wife and daughter
The police has started questioning Om Prakash’s wife and daughter about his death. According to the PTI report, the retired DGP had expressed concern about his life being threatened by some close colleagues.
What was the murder due to property?
The English website India TV quoted sources as saying that former police officer Om Prakash wanted to name his entire property son. His decision was not allegedly liked by his wife. At the moment, the wife is the main suspect. The wife first informed the police about his death, but when the police reached, he refused to open the door, after which the suspicion increased.
68 -year -old IPS officer of 1981 batch was a native of Champaran, Bihar and received an MSc degree in geology. He was appointed Director General of Police on 1 March 2015. Earlier, he had been the head of fire and emergency services as well as home guards.
