Jasprit Bumrah is the world’s number-1 Test bowler, but has been consistently struggling with injuries. Since playing only 3 Tests on the England tour, critics have surrounded him. There has been discussion on the commentary box to social media about the workload management of Bumrah. Amidst continuous criticisms, former Chief Selector of the Indian cricket team Chetan Sharma has supported Bumrah. Chetan Sharma clearly says that the players should take a decision on playing or not only after taking the advice of the physio.
Jaspreet Bumrah gets support
Chetan Sharma himself has been a fast bowler. He said, “If the medical team advises, and the doctor says that I have to take antibiotics medicine, then I have to do it. Similarly, if the physio is saying that the workload needs to be managed properly, then we should listen to them because physio can better assess fitness.”
Chetan Sharma represented India for almost a decade in international cricket. He scored 396 runs in 23 Tests for India and took 61 wickets. In ODI cricket, he took 456 runs and 67 wickets in 65 matches.
Big statement on Asia Cup
Team India has not yet been announced for the Asia Cup. On this, Chetan Sharma said, “I will say that whatever will be selected will be in the interest of the country. We are playing very good cricket at this time, I am proud to see Team India’s performance in England. I hope that India will win the Asia Cup title and the T20 World Cup will also be in India shortly after that.”
