MG Majestor has recently been introduced in India as the company’s new flagship SUV. It is replacing MG Gloster and its launch is scheduled in April 2026. Delivery is expected to start from May. This premium three-row SUV will directly compete with the Toyota Fortuner and Fortuner Legender. Toyota Fortuner already has a strong hold in this large SUV segment. Now MG Majestor is entering the competition with powerful looks, big size and new features. Let us know which SUV is bigger and more powerful.

Who is ahead in size?

If we talk about size, MG Majestor is much bigger than Toyota Fortuner. The Majestor is 251 mm longer, 161 mm wider and 41 mm taller than the Fortuner. Its wheelbase is also 205 mm longer. This clearly means that the cabin of Majestor will be bigger and the people sitting in the 3rd row can get more space. Even on the road, its road presence may appear stronger and heavier. In terms of size, MG Majestor is clearly ahead.

What is the difference between engine and power?

MG Majestor has a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine, which comes with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. This engine gives power of about 215 to 218 bhp and torque of about 478 to 480 Nm. Whereas Toyota Fortuner has a 2.7-litre petrol engine, which comes with a manual gearbox. Its 2.8-litre diesel engine (in automatic version) gives approximately 201 bhp power and 500 Nm torque. In terms of power, MG Majestor looks slightly ahead, but in terms of torque, the diesel engine of Fortuner gives more power. Both the SUVs come with strong off-roading capabilities.

Who is better in safety features?

Toyota Fortuner comes with essential safety features like 7 airbags, ESC, traction control, hill assist, downhill assist, differential lock and parking sensor. On the other hand, ADAS level 2 system has been provided in MG Majestor. It has modern features like lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking. Majestor seems more advanced in terms of new technology.

Which SUV is more powerful?

If you want a bigger SUV and modern safety features then MG Majestor can be a better option. But if you want strong brand values, more torque and a dependable image, the Toyota Fortuner is still a strong contender.
