US President Donald Trump has imposed a 50 percent tariff on India, which has come into force from Wednesday (August 27). The possibility of free trade engagement between India and America seems almost negligible, but in the meantime, former Foreign Secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Harshvardhan Shringla has given a shocking statement. He has expressed hope that India and America will soon find a way out about free trade engagement.
Harshvardhan Shringla said, “We will have to pay 50 percent tariffs on goods exported from India in America. We are working on reducing its effect. Now alternative markets will also be searched. We have done a free trade agreement with Australia, United Arab Emirates and United Kingdom. We are close to the free trade agreement with the European Union. This means that we can reach many markets. ”
