Anurag told that his new project is getting tremendous love and great response from people, which he did not expect. Initially he thought that his friend Abhishant would play this role, but later he got this role. He also praised Abhishant’s acting.
He described Freedom at Midnight Season 2 as bigger, crisper and more powerful than before, with new characters and more drama. It is easy to understand the story by watching Season 1, but Season 2 is a complete season in itself.
Playing the character of Madan Lal Pava was challenging for him because it was a real historical personality about whom not much information was available. He built this character through research without any video reference.
Anurag said that there is social responsibility in historical roles, but working with strong creators like Nikhil Advani reduces the pressure.
He cited theater as the reason for his confidence and acting strength. He has two projects coming up in the future—Raftaar with Rajkummar Rao and Richie Mehta’s Sundari—and he is still associated with theatre.
