This instruction has been released on the basis of bulletin released on 17 December 2018 by Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). It warned of possible problems of fuel control switch locking system in different models of Boeing and McDonal Douglas.

In a preliminary report released on Saturday (12 July 2025) in the Ahmedabad plane crash case, it was reported that the maintenance record of the crashed aircraft was perfectly fine. All the necessary inspections were completed on time. It has also been said to have a valid flight qualification certificate near the aircraft.
