Former Team India player Manoj Tiwari gave a big statement regarding Indian men’s cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir. He believes that if the team coached by Gambhir is not able to do wonders in the upcoming 2026 World Cup, then he should be sacked. Manoj Tiwari’s statement created a stir
Speaking to InsideSports, Manoj Tiwari said, “If Gautam Gambhir fails to win the T20 World Cup 2026, then BCCI should take a big and difficult decision. BCCI Secretary has said that we will keep Gautam Gambhir till his contract ends. But if the T20 World Cup does not give results to Gambhir, then I think BCCI will take a big decision and release him.”
Who is Gambhir’s replacement?
If for some reason Gautam Gambhir is removed from the post of head coach, then who will replace him? This also raises a question. Manoj Tiwari took the name of VVS Laxman as replacement.
He said, “It should be a process. When Rahul Dravid was the head coach of Team India and if he missed a series, VVS Laxman was the natural favourite. Team India had a good win percentage under Laxman’s coaching. I think BCCI should convince him because he is a sensible person and a very good person too. He also has coaching experience.”
