Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to him on Thursday (2 October 2025) on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. He said that India will realize the dream of ‘self -sufficient’ and ‘developed India’ by following the path shown by him. PM Modi reached Rajghat on Thursday morning and also paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi.
PM Modi wrote in a post on social media platform X, “On Gandhi Jayanti, we remember the extraordinary life of our beloved Bapu, whose ideals changed human history. He showed how courage and simplicity could become a source of great change. They believed in the power of service and compassion, because they were an essential way to strengthen people. We were a need to strengthen people. We will remain in our goals of developing India.”
International non -violence day
Mahatma Gandhi is remembered for his life dedication to truth, non -violence and social justice on ‘Gandhi Jayanti’. This day not only respects their peace and ideology of moral life, but is also celebrated globally as International Non -Violence Day.
PM Modi also paid tribute to Lal Bahadur Shastri
Apart from Mahatma Gandhi, PM Modi also paid tribute to former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. He wrote in another post on the X platform, “Lal Bahadur Shastri was a great politician whose honesty, humility and determination strengthened India. He also presented the example of leadership, power and decisive action even in challenging times. His slogan of ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan’ arouses a spirit of patriotism among our people. They also inspire us in our efforts to create a strong and self -sufficient India.” Please tell that Lal Bahadur Shastri was born on 2 October 1904 in Mughalsarai, Uttar Pradesh. Lal Bahadur Shastri became the second Prime Minister of India after the death of Jawaharlal Nehru in 1964.
