Nepal’s National Swatantra Party (RSP) President Ravi Lamichhane has been sent back to his house on Saturday (September 13, 2025). The police cited security related reasons behind this. In fact, during the recent anti-government Gen-G movement in Nepal, protesters fired Ravi Lamichna in jail.

However, after former Chief Justice Sushila Karki took over as an interim Prime Minister in Nepal, Laming went back to Nakkhu Jail on Saturday (September 13, 2025) after taking over as an interim Prime Minister. Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Ravi Lamichhane said that he was returning to jail again with the hope that he would never have injustice again, because the country has got a symbol of justice as Prime Minister. Describing his birthday on Saturday (September 13), Lamichhane said that he is being sent back to jail as a gift of his birthday.

Nakkhu jail administration RSP Refusal to keep the chairman in jail

As soon as Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Ravi Lamichne came to the Jail administration to surrender, the jail administration refused to keep him in jail. Lamichane along with his wife Nikita and RSP acting president DP Aryal reached Nakkhu Jail. However, he stayed in the jail premises for two hours, but the jail administration did not lodge inside the jail.

RSP Leader Ganesh Parjuli gave information

According to RSP leader Ganesh Parjuli, ‘Nakkhu jail officials did not allow the Lamichna to stay in jail, citing insufficient security arrangements. He said that whenever needed, he will be asked to report. At the moment, he is more secure at his home. After this, the way Lamichhane came to jail, he returned to his home.

Ravi Lamichhane supported Sushila Karki

The National Swatantra Party (RSP) of Ravi Lamichhane has given his support to the interim government led by Nepal’s first woman Prime Minister and former Chief Justice Sushila Karki. Lamichane has urged Nepal’s newly appointed interim Prime Minister Sushila Karki to protect the country’s constitution, strict action against corruption, rebuild and play an active role in economic reforms.

At the same time, on Saturday (September 13, 2025) on behalf of General Secretary Kavindra Burlakoti, the NISP said that Prime Minister Sushila Karki has been given the responsibility of leading the country in a difficult transition period and such a big change has been possible only due to the decisive intervention of the new generation of the country.
