On the occasion of International Women’s Day, where women are being honored by organizing programs across the country, a case of insulting women has come to light in Giridih, Jharkhand. In Giridih, the Deputy Commissioner has been accused of insulting women instead of respecting them. DC threatened to arrest the Jal Sahiyas who were protesting for their demands. Due to the loud roar of the Deputy Commissioner, there was a drop of silence in the collectorate.
This matter is of Giridih Collectorate complex. A one-day workshop was organized here under the Jal Mahotsav Fortnight on the occasion of International Women’s Day. Hundreds of Jalsahiyas from different blocks of the district had come to participate in this program.
What is the allegation of Jalsahiyas?
During the program, many Jalsahiyas told that they have not been paid their honorarium for the last seven months. Angered over this issue, hundreds of Jalsahiyas protested by sitting on the stairs of the main gate in the Collectorate premises. Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Ramniwas Yadav was going to the office through the main gate when he came face to face with the protesting Jal Sahiyas.

During this, the Deputy Commissioner shouted at the protesting women and gave an ultimatum to end the protest immediately. He threatened that if they did not do so, everyone would be arrested and sent to jail. Not only this, due to the shouting of the Deputy Commissioner, the atmosphere of the Collectorate premises turned completely pin drop silent for some time. Everyone became quiet out of fear, yet the Deputy Commissioner kept shouting and asked the women to end the protest immediately under any circumstances.
Its video is also going viral on social media platforms. Jalsahiyas also alleged that when they complained about the outstanding honorarium to Deputy Commissioner Ram Niwas Yadav, they were insulted.
