There is great news for the youth preparing for government jobs. Railway Recruitment Board has started the recruitment process for thousands of Group D posts. Candidates who have been waiting for this recruitment for a long time can now apply online. This recruitment will be done in various railway zones across the country. The application process is completely online, hence candidates are advised to fill their form well in time and not wait for the last date.

How many posts will be recruited

A total of 22,082 Level-1 posts will be filled under this recruitment drive. These posts include Track Maintainer, Assistant Pointsman, Helper and other Group D category posts. This is considered to be one of the biggest railway recruitments in recent years. All the posts are distributed among different railway zones and the selection process will be through Computer Based Examination (CBT).

what qualification is required

Candidates applying for RRB Group D 2026 must have passed 10th from a recognized board. Candidates who have ITI or NAC (NCVT) certificate can also apply. Apart from educational qualification, the candidate will also have to fulfill physical and medical standards. During recruitment, eyesight and physical fitness will be tested in the medical test.

age limit

For this recruitment, the minimum age has been fixed at 18 years and maximum age at 33 years. The age will be calculated on the basis of January 1, 2026. Reserved category candidates will be given age relaxation as per government rules. OBC category will be given 3 years, SC/ST category will be given 5 years and additional relaxation will be given to disabled candidates.

application fee

The application fee has been fixed differently according to the category. The application fee for General, OBC and EWS category candidates has been kept at Rs 500, out of which Rs 400 will be refunded after appearing in the CBT exam. Whereas for SC, ST, women, disabled, ex-servicemen and transgender candidates, a fee of Rs 250 has been fixed, which will be fully refunded after appearing in the examination. Fee will have to be paid through online mode like debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI.
