Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC) has started the application process for Scientific Officer Recruitment 2026. This recruitment will be done through OCES and DGFS Training Scheme. Selected candidates will be given training first and after that they will be appointed as Scientific Officers in the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India.

Ability
To apply for this recruitment, the candidate must have BE/BTech, BSc (Engineering), MSc or Integrated MSc degree. The candidate must have at least 60 percent marks. Final year students can also apply, but they will have to complete the degree on time.
age limit
The maximum age of the candidate for BARC Recruitment 2026 has been fixed at 26 years, OBC category candidates will be given age relaxation of 3 years and SC/ST category candidates will be given 5 years age relaxation.
salary
During the training period, candidates will get a stipend of around Rs 74,000 every month. After completion of training, if appointed to the post of Scientific Officer, the total salary and allowances included can be around Rs 1.30 lakh per month.
How will the selection process be?
In the selection process, first the candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of online examination or GATE score, after which the interview will be conducted and the final selection of the candidates successful in the interview and medical examination will be done.
What is OCES and DGFS Scheme?
- OCES is a one-year training scheme, in which training is given for scientific work.
- Under the DGFS scheme, some candidates are given the opportunity to do M.Tech and also get financial assistance during their studies.
application fee
The application fee for male candidates of General, OBC and EWS category has been fixed at Rs 500, whereas no application fee will be charged from female candidates, SC/ST category and physically handicapped (PwBD) candidates.
