There is great news for the youth of Bihar. Recruitment has been announced for a total of 83 constable posts in the Special Branch of Bihar Police. Central Selection Council i.e. CSBC has released the official notification for this recruitment on 29 January. This recruitment has been done on the basis of the order of General Administration Department, Government of Bihar.
On which posts will there be recruitment?
83 posts in the recruitment are of constable (general closed cadre) or constable (general duty close cadre). The candidates selected on these posts will have to work in the special branch of Bihar Police. Special Branch is an important department of police, where intelligence work, security and other special responsibilities are done.
How much salary will you get?
The selected constables will get salary as per Level-3. This pay scale ranges from Rs 21,700 to Rs 69,100. The starting salary will be Rs 21,700 and will increase with time. Apart from this, other benefits of government job like allowance, pension, medical facilities etc. will also be available.

Candidates will have to fill the form between these dates only. The last date for depositing fees is also till March 5, 2026.

Whose reservation in recruitment and how much?
- Recruitment will be strictly as per reservation rules. The distribution of posts is as follows.
- General: 34 posts
- EWS (Economically Weaker Section): 8 posts
- SC (Scheduled Caste): 13 posts
- ST (Scheduled Tribe): 1 post
- Extremely Backward Class (EBC): 15 Posts
- OBC: 10 posts
- EBC Women: 2 Posts
- Dependents of Freedom Fighters: 2 posts
Apart from this, 35% reservation in total posts is for women. This means that approximately 29 posts are reserved for women. In such a situation, women can take advantage of women quota along with their category.
How will the selection be done?
Selection will be based on written examination, physical efficiency test (PET/PST) and other stages. According to some information, race test may not be conducted in a particular branch, but check the complete details in the official advertisement. There will be subjects like Hindi, English, Mathematics, General Knowledge in the written examination.
