A big and good news has come out for the youth and students of the country. The Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India has started a special and comprehensive internship program for the year 2025. Under this program, students will get a chance to work on 452 internship posts. This internship will not only provide practical experience along with studies, but can also open the way for a career in the field of sports. This initiative of the Sports Ministry is being considered special for those students who want to make their future in fields related to sports, administration, science or policy.
This internship program has been specially designed keeping in mind the college and university students. Through this, students will not only get bookish knowledge but will also get real work experience. Selected interns will get an opportunity to learn work related to sports administration, event management, sports science, anti-doping, athlete support and implementation of government schemes. Students will work with experienced officials and experts, giving them the opportunity to closely understand the process of policy making and implementation.
In which institutions will you get the chance?
Under this internship program, students will be given an opportunity to work in the Union Sports Ministry as well as its major institutions. These include big and reputed institutions like Sports Authority of India (SAI), National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) and National Dope Testing Laboratory (NDTL). Here the interns will not only have to work sitting in the office, but they will also be given field level training. Students will get an opportunity to work in stadiums, regional centers and national centers of excellence and understand the real sports system.
Opportunity to join national sports schemes
The most special thing about this internship is that the selected students will be able to be a part of the big sports schemes of the country. Interns will get an opportunity to work directly in schemes like Khelo India, Target Olympic Podium Scheme and Target Asian Games Group. Through these schemes, interns will get the experience to understand the responsibilities of conducting, monitoring and coordinating sports programs. This will let them know how sports schemes are implemented at the national level.
Internship in more than 20 fields
Under this internship program, students will be given the opportunity to work in more than 20 work areas. These include areas like sports management, administration, sports science, media and communication, IT systems, legal work, international sports administration and anti-doping. Apart from this, students will also get training related to lab testing, data analysis and scientific athlete support. This experience will help enhance the skills of the students and prepare them for the future.
Special experience in NADA and NDTL
The interns who will work at the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) will get the opportunity to participate in anti-doping awareness programs, legal regulations and case related work. This will help them understand the importance of clean and fair play. The interns selected in the National Dope Testing Laboratory (NDTL) will get experience related to modern lab technology, sample testing and research. This is special for those students who want to progress in the field of science and research.
What will the selection process be like?
The selection process for this internship will be completely online. Recruitment will be done in two phases in January and July every year. First of all, the eligibility and necessary documents of the candidates will be checked. After this, merit list will be prepared on the basis of 10th, 12th and graduation level marks. The final selection will be done as per the rules and guidelines of the concerned institute.
