There is good news for kite flying lovers in Delhi. Actually, a three-day kite festival is being organized in Bansera by Delhi Development Authority. This fair will run from 16 to 18 January, where people will be able to fly kites in the open fields as well as learn about the history of kites and their importance. The theme of this kite festival has been the history and importance of kites.
Under this, a special pavilion will also be built, in which the journey of the kite from its beginning till today will be shown. Here kites of different eras, their sizes, materials used and methods of flying will be explained through panels. A glimpse of kites popular in India and abroad will also be seen here.
What will be special in Delhi’s Kite Festival?
A special gallery will also be made in the Kite Festival of Delhi. In which it will be told how in ancient times kites were used in war and military purposes. Information related to surveillance, sending messages and political use will be given in this gallery. For this, sketches, photo models and replicas will also be displayed. At the same time, a high quality photo exhibition will also be organized in the festival, in which photographs of kite festivals of India and abroad, record making kites, traditional kite culture and artistic kites will be shown. Apart from this, kites of different designs and sizes will also be displayed, along with which their information will also be given.
Food, folk art and special events for children too
Apart from kites, food and drink stalls will be set up in the fair. Folk artists from different states will give cultural presentations. Special sports and entertainment activities will also be arranged for children. Along with this, stalls will also be set up for purchasing kites, safe strings and related items. Kite artists from India and abroad will participate in this International Kite Festival. A kite parade will also be taken out during the event. In which international, national and local kite flyers will be included. During the entire event, kite decorations based on attractive themes will also be seen in the Bansera complex. Around 3000 visitors are expected to come to this kite festival every day.
Entry for common people will be completely free
This kite festival will be organized in Bansera from 16 January to 18 January. The program will start at 4:30 pm on January 16. Entry of common people in this event has been kept completely free.
