Google’s UnderNow apps will be behaved differently by looking at the user’s Android version. The devices with Android 13 or above will get new protection and better performance, while the apps on the old system can be common to crash apps, shutdown features, or not to fully run.
Google says that more than 50% of active users are still on Android 12 or older versions and these people are now in the biggest threat. Because Android 12 and 12L have now reached End-of-Life status. This means that these verses will no longer get any security patches, which can make users easy target of cyber attachment.
The new Play Integrity System will be strict especially for apps that are associated with finance, banking or sensitive data. Such apps will now check whether the user’s phone has received security update in the last 12 months. If not, options like money transfer, payment or login may be closed.
Now the question arises whether it is too late to update? So the answer is ‘no’, but the day is very close that old Android users can be forced to switch to new handsets. Some brands can give security patch for their phone themselves, but it depends on every company and is not always reliable. If your phone supports Android 13 or above, update the system immediately.
