While Deendayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University, the university has started the UGC-recognized online and open distance learning (ODL) courses, on the other hand, the students of the university have made a great success in the UGC-NET, JRF and PhD eligibility test and have brought out the name of Gorakhpur in the entire state.
University Vice Chancellor Prof. Poonam Tandon formally launched these courses and said that this initiative is a historic step towards providing high quality education to far-flung students. Through these courses, students will now be able to do popular courses like B.Com, M.Com, BBA, MBA and MA (English) from their homes.
In these courses, admission has been provided to the international level. According to the Vice Chancellor, students from 245 countries of the world can enroll in these courses. The option of internship has also been given, which will give students experience along with studies.
Success in NET-JRF
More than 150 students of the university have achieved success in the UGC-NET/JRF exam held in June 2025. The special thing is that more than two dozen of these students have been selected for JRF (Junior Research Fellowship). Shreya Dwivedi, a research student of the Department of Political Science, has increased the value of Gorakhpur University by securing 21st rank across the country.
University initiatives became the key to success
The university has provided facilities for students from time to time mock tests, net workshops, career counseling, and digital library. Research -based teaching policy and Faculty Development Program (FDP) have also strengthened teachers technically.
Pro. Anubhuti Dubey said that this success is the fruit of mixed hard work of all departments and the number of successful students can increase further in the coming days.
Online counseling for admission from today
The process of online counseling for admission to Deendayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University will start from Thursday. There are 13 such courses out of a total of 44 courses. Where seats will be allotted through online counseling in the university campus as well as in the participating colleges.
Among them, mainly 6 colleges in BALB, 5 colleges in BBA, eight in BCA, two in BCom Honors, three in BSC Agriculture, one in LLB, one in LLB, M.Ed. There are two, one in MSc Mathematics, one in MSc Physics, one in M.Com, one in MA English, 3 in BPED and one in BA Aonrs.
