Agastya Nanda, grandson of Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, has entered the film industry. His first film ‘Ikkis’ is released in theaters on 1 January 2026. After Abhishek Bachchan, Agastya is the third generation from the Bachchan family who is trying his luck in acting. But recently Agastya has said that he does not take the pressure of carrying forward the legacy of the Bachchan family, because it is not his legacy at all.
Agastya Nanda was recently seen in conversation with ‘Ikkis’ director Sriram Raghavan and co-actress Simar Bhatia for IMDb. During this, he was asked about the pressure of coming from a prestigious film family like Bachchan. On which the actor clarified that his surname is Nanda and he believes in carrying forward his father’s legacy.

‘That is not my heritage, my surname is Nanda…’
Shriram Raghavan asked Agastya Nanda- ‘You come from such a distinguished family from both sides, in fact you come from a legendary family. Does this put a lot of pressure on you?’ Responding to this, the ‘Ikkis’ actor said- ‘I don’t take that pressure at all because it is not my heritage. My surname is Nanda because I am first of all my father’s son. My focus is on making them feel proud. This is the legacy that I take very seriously.
‘Other members of my family, who are actors…’
Agastya Nanda further said- ‘I admire the work of other members of my family who are actors and I like their work. But I don’t think I can ever be like him, so it’s useless to waste time thinking about it.
