Corruption cases in construction works in Uttar Pradesh are not showing any signs of stopping. The latest case is from the capital Lucknow. Signal free green corridor is being constructed here on the banks of river Gomti. Two days ago, on March 13, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had inaugurated the Samtamulak intersection to Daliganj. But after just two days its road caved in. After which many questions are now being raised.
Due to the sinking of the road, there has been panic among the officials of Lucknow Development Authority, the officials who reached the spot have started the work of repairing it. According to initial information, the road subsidence is said to be due to sewer leakage. At present the entire matter is being investigated.
Sewage leakage said to be the reason
Let us tell you here that on Sunday there was a sudden subsidence on the left side of the road at Hanuman Setu-Nishatganj Moff. It is said to be five feet deep. The good news is that no one has been injured yet. According to the contractor, the road has sunken due to leakage in the sewer pipeline. Now the big question is why such possible faults in projects worth crores of rupees were not checked earlier? There has been no statement from LDA officials regarding this. At present its repair work is going on.
What is Green Corridor?
Let us tell you here that a signal free green corridor is being built on the banks of river Gomti. Whose length is 28 kilometers. It will be built in four separate phases. After its construction, there will be signal free traffic from IIM Road to Kisan Path. City traffic will also gain speed. The second phase is the construction of seven kilometers from Samatamulak to Daliganj. This will provide relief from jam in areas with heavy traffic pressure like Hazratganj, Nishatganj. The total cost of this scheme is Rs 1519 crore.
However, many questions are being raised due to the sinking of the road even before the construction is completed. According to the local people, the roots of corruption are clearly visible in this scheme.
