Green Crackers: Diwali is just two days away. On the day of Diwali, people burst a lot of firecrackers. But firecrackers spoil the air of Delhi. Therefore, now the demand for green crackers is high in Delhi. Sale of green firecrackers has started in Delhi from today i.e. the day of Dhanteras. Delhi Government’s Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that the government has issued licenses to more than 200 dealers.

According to the order of the Supreme Court, only CSIR-NEERI or PESO certified firecrackers can be sold. Instead of traditional gunpowder, less polluting chemicals are used in these firecrackers. People have been appealed to buy only genuine green crackers with QR code. So that the fun of the festival remains intact and the air also remains clean. Meanwhile, many people also sell fake green crackers. This is how to find out which is real and which is fake.

How to identify genuine green crackers?

Green crackers will be sold for Diwali only from 18th to 20th October. And for this, strict monitoring will be maintained on all the vendors. But during this time you need to be careful. And buy genuine green crackers because fake ones are also present in the market. Keep this in mind to identify real green crackers. They have a QR code. A unique QR code is printed on every certified green cracker pack. By scanning which buyers can check whether the firecracker is approved by CSIR-NEERI or PESO or not.

When scanned, complete details of the product are visible. Such as manufacturer name, license number and environmental certification. Fake firecrackers either do not have QR code or they give wrong information when scanned. While purchasing, please check the brand name, sealed packing and manufacturing address. Do not buy firecrackers from any local or unlicensed seller as they can be highly polluting and dangerous.

Government deployed teams

Delhi government has formed special teams in all the districts which will monitor the sale of green firecrackers. Temporary or permanent licenses have been given only to those shopkeepers who are following the rules. Licenses have been issued to more than 200 vendors in all the districts. While the remaining applications are under investigation.

Monitoring teams will conduct surprise inspections of shops to ensure that fake or polluting firecrackers are not sold. Also, bursting of firecrackers has been allowed only at the fixed time i.e. from 6 to 7 in the morning and from 8 to 10 in the night. Immediate action will be taken against those who break the rules.
