If you want greenery near the roof, balcony or window of the house and also want to taste fresh vegetables, then cherry tomato cultivation can be a great option for you. Small, red and juice-filled cherry tomatoes are not only delicious but also look very attractive in appearance. Also, they are also very beneficial for health.

To grow cherry tomatoes, you do not need a field nor a big garden. Only one 12 to 14 inch pot is enough, with holes for drainage below. While preparing the soil, add cow dung manure, cocopet and some sand, so that it becomes light and nutritious. You will find the seeds nearest nursery or online easily.

Sunshine, water and love

Cherry tomato plant needs direct sunlight of at least 5–6 hours a day. Keep the pot in a place where sunlight is plentiful. Give water as much as there is no need, not too much. The soil should remain with light moist. Giving liquid organic fertilizer once a week will increase the plant rapidly.

When and how to sow seeds?

The best time to sow seeds is between February to April, but you can try in other months of the year. The seeds take 5 to 10 days to sprout and within about 60 to 70 days, the plant starts giving fruits. A plant can give about 20–40 small cherry tomatoes.
